Iceland: Reykjavik & the Golden Circle plus West Iceland & South Coast May/June 2019

Between May 31st & June 8th, 2019 we explored the colorful and dynamic world of Iceland. From bustling high tech and colorful Reykjavik with museums and delights on every street to a vast and varied terrain with glaciers, waterfalls, rivers, geothermal springs, greenhouses, and small towns and farms - this was one non-stop excursion from Sundown (around Midnight) to early morning breakfasts. Special thanks for our amazing tour guide from GoAhead Gunnur Robertsdottir e-mail: gunnurtheguide@gmail.com & our skilled driver Ivar Sveinsson (from Hopbilar).

The flag of Iceland was officially adopted on June 19, 1915. The cross design is modeled after the Danish flag. The color red is said to symbolize the island's active volcanoes; white the ice and snow that covers most of the country, and blue is symbolic of the surrounding Atlantic Ocean.
