Discovering the Jersey Shore -From Ocean Grove to Spring Lake and back
Our adventure starts in Ocean Grove, New Jersey - a return to some of my most vivid childhood memories as Brethren Annual Conferences were held there every four years. This is the place where I first saw and experienced "the ocean". What started out in 1869 as a Victorian-era camp meeting site has become one of the Jersey Shore's finest year-round seaside resorts. Known as "the Jewel of the Jersey Shore," Ocean Grove has the highest concentration of authentic Victorian architecture in the country. This national historic treasure offers one square mile of natural beauty, including pristine beaches, tree-lined streets, serene boardwalk and parks, music & lecture programs, unique eateries, magnificent Inns, and a quaint shopping district. Take a look inside the Grand Auditorium, home to performances by legendary performers and speakers. And continue a stroll down the Boardwalk to lovely “story book” Spring Lake and back - all within 14 miles and time for lunch and sight-seeing and a long day by the beach.
