Croatia & Slovenia: The Old-World Adriatic 10.20-11.03 2022
Between October 20th & November 3rd - 20 Go Ahead travelers were guided by expert and talented Nikola V. through the Old World Adriatic 15 day Itinerary supplemented by local guides at each locale. Highlights included Dubrovnik's fortified walls ( a walk around), Mostar's Old Bridge (World UNESCO Heritage Site), Diocletian's Palace, Ivan Mestrovic Gallery, towns of Trogir, Zadar, Zagreb,Piran, Croatian Museum of Naive Art & Plitvice Lakes National Park, Old Town Ljubljana, Lake Bled & Lake Bohinj, and the Village of Ribcev Laz & several other lesser known hamlets. Each day is marked by the "hand-written" Itinerary or a summary collage. We enjoyed sharing food and stories together along with in depth learning about the war torn history of the former Tito's Yugoslavia and the impact of WW I and WW II on the entire region. From Roman's and Venetians to the Ottoman Empire and more this region has survived, evolved, preserved and created a unique regional bond. Enjoy the journey and for those that traveled the memories.
