Pygmalion Opera-ballet 4.19.2015
On Sunday, April 19th, 2015, the Madison Bach Musicians performed Pygmalion (1748), Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764) - semi-staged, Opera-ballet in one act; Libretto by Ballot de Sovot, plus concert experts from Rameau's Les Indes Galantes (1735). Pre-concert lectures by Charles Dill and Trevor Stephenson, Artistic Director; Marc Vallon, conductor. The last performance of the Madison Bach Musicians 2014-2015 season was held at the First Unitarian Society of Madison, 900 University Bay Drive, WI. Program inserts of Rameau's masterpiece of art & transformation and those that performed are included. Here's an up close and personal look at the Madison Bach Musicians, the audience and volunteers prior to and during Sunday's performance. Photographer's Notes: Canon 5D Mark III utilizing Canon 24-70mm f/2.8, Wide Angle Canon 17-40mm f/4.0 and Telephoto 70-200mm f/2.8. All photos during the performance were hand held using existing light (daylight and artificial). Indoor Rehearsal/Outdoor often accompanied with Speedlite 600 EX flash.
