Madison Bach Musicians - Bach, Cantatas & Concertos- October 5th, 2014

On Sunday afternoon, October 5th, 2014, the Madison Bach Musicians performed a program of Cantatas & Concertos by J.S. Bach. Included in the program were Cantata 82 Ich habe genug, Cantata 58 Ach Gott, wie manches Herzeleid, the Harpsichord Concerto in D minor, and the Concerto for Oboe &Violin in C minor. The featured soloists included bass-baritone Joshua Copeland, soprano Chelsea Morris (recent winner of the Handel Arts Competition), harpsichordist Trevor Stephenson, baroque oboist Luke Conklin, and baroque violinist Kangwon Kim. The concert was played entirely on 18th-century period instruments. Norman Sheppard hand builds fortepianos and harpsichords based on drawings from the 16th-19th centuries. Prior to the performance, Trevor Stephenson provided an informative pre-concert lecture about the music and the period instruments.
