Grandview Four Square: The HOME Stretch 2017

The HOME Stretch is underway - to complete the exterior and landscaping of the Four Square project. On Sunday, May 14th, 2017 I visited Myron & Hannah and Ivy at the Four Square and captured some of the many exterior alterations including the complete removal of the 1904 abode. Look for details in the album including the builder of the 1904 structure - now history. ( John M. Felzer, Verona, IN left a signed board time capsule for the next generations to discover). The settling in process has continue with TV watching in the basement where bread dough is punched and kneaded. Two days later I had Total Knee Replacement and the approximately 2 weeks post operative I revisited the Four Square. The patio area has been completed including outdoor furniture and plants. Fresh sod had been installed on the same day with more to come. An exterior walk around shows the emerging landscape from all angles, with preparation for the Front Porch underway. On Wednesday, June 6th, 2017 the last M & M of the season was held at the Four Square on Grandview. Images captured with my Samsung Galaxy S7 show the send off graduation event for Mariah and Eliana plus progress on the Four Square front porch. On July 14th progress had been made on the highly detailed front porch, including prime and paint - all going on during peak apple sauce home canning production. On July 26th I documented storm damage to a storage shed as well as progress on the front porch. On July 28th the official Occupancy notification was delivered. On October 22 advances on the exterior were documented including sidewalks and firepit. On January 6, 2018 the family celebrated the New Year with an Open House for friends and family. The season was marked by modest snowfall but very cold temperatures including below zero. The Four Square however, was cozy and comfortable accompanied by delicious food and lively conversation.
