Children of Tijuana's "Landfillville"

For decades the tractor trailers full of San Diego's discarded trash was buried in Tijuana, layer by layer. For hundreds of families; salavaging the landfill waste became a source of income as well as an affordable place to live. The site is now closed while life in the landfill area and nearby community continues to evolve. Take a look at the faces and world of a surprisingly resilient and cohesive neighborhood, just south of the U.S border. Activities at the Community Center and the house building projects are anchored by the dedicated work of Bittersweet Ministeries which sponsor work projects in this Tijuana area.

  • Jesus, played spontaneously by Kent, is swarmed by the masses inside the crowded house. The paralyzed man will need to be lowered through the roof of the house so Jesus can heal him. This is the best crowd to be swarmed by.
