Halloween on Amherst Road, Middleton, WI

It's our first Halloween on Amherst Road so we decide to adapt to local customs and make a few traditions of our own. Here we get to meet some of the younger neighbors and share our treat bounty with the next generations. It was a lot of fun and the children seemed to have a wonderful time...even those dressed up for the very first time.

  • One really sweet pumpkin treat.
  • "I'm not sure what's going on exactly, but everyone seems to smile at me."
  • "Hey, witch from the North...it's getting kind of toasty in here."
  • And just a few houses away is the cutest elephant in all of Wisconsin. And she has blue eyes too.

  • And here's the pumpkin's Granddad dressed up like a photographer. He even has his Canon Live Learning cap on.
  • A blue elephant with eyes to match her suit. .
  • Back on our decked out pumpkin porch we are ready for the first "trick or treaters" of the evening. In Middleton, "official" trick or treat time is 5 PM to 8 PM on Halloween night.
  • We're ready for the whole neighborhood - a nice selection. And the other houses on Amherst that have been completed are welcoming also.
  • When this tribe arrived, we gave them all the candy that they wanted.....wouldn't you ?
  • And this darling little girl is a.......not sure without doing some research but she sure is cute...and she said "Thank You."
  • Here's our home from the outside with our first ever Halloween and Fall Thanksgiving Candles.
  • And here's the "managers"of the Trick or Treat surplus...waiting for more customers. Sometimes we encouraged those on the other side of the street to make a visit.
  • As time ticked by, it started to get colder so we ate hot soup and I warmed up my hat on a candle lite pumpkin.
  • Some of our late night customers - yes, that knife is embedded in the bandage of the kid to the right...some very nice home made touches that showed originality.
  • A really good haul of goodies for these two tykes.
  • Beautiful smiles all evening long. And very polite.
  • Mr. Jack O Lantern will keep smiling for a few more weeks. It's been a great first Halloween on Amherst Road. Just spook-tac-cular in so many ways.
