Christmas 2011 on the Sweitzer farm
Often the Indiana Sweitzers gather on the farm and share Christmas Day. Brother Glenn from Muncie along with our nephews Bryan and Leo, join Aunt Beth and Uncle Jim Sweitzer-Riley from North Manchester as we all gather around the fire and share the festivities. Sarah's mother, Anna Ruth from nearby Provena, Avilla, IN. also spends Christmas Day with the family. Activities include Skip-Bo and Uno, shooting some baskets and tossing the football, puzzles, watching Basketball games and "Home Alone", reading, listening to Christmas music, cooking, baking and free flowing conversation. Christmas Eve is spent at the local Church of the Brethren, north on County Road 15, complete with a candlelight service. For those that enjoy maintaining family traditions and making new ones - they elect to sleep on the floor by the wood burning stove and Christmas tree - all the closer for breakfast and opening presents in the morning.
