Since 2000, where you can knit and sip and share your best yarns.

  • Since 2000, where you can knit and sip and share your best yarns.

  • A reminder of the importance of sheep. Once paired with knitters their fine wool helps keep us warm and in style.
  • From Frosted Mint to Spinach Artichoke Feta there's more to the Sow's Ear than pork and lamb.
  • After shopping for the perfect yarn you can take a coffee break.
  • Bright colored yarns and bright 100 % crushed Fruit Smoothies- side by side.
  • Self portrait of your photographer taking yet another perspective when capturing the world of the Sow's Ear.
  • And here's the room for Barista Ben's Coffee Tasting: Knit and Sip. The glasses are for water to rinse the sipping spoons between coffees and tasting samples.
  • Ben Wineke relaxes while students arrive. Actually Ben is relaxed all of the time and enjoys his passion for appreciating coffee.
  • Ben explains his artistic masterpiece of tastes and aromas.
  • Where the olfactory and taste sensors work their magic evoking memories, pleasure and differences in taste. Fresh Ground Coffee is first sniffed like wine, then again as hot water is added and finally, after waiting a few minutes, as the coffee crust is parted with spoons. Full flavor is appreciated by sipping (slurping) a spoonful at a time, pausing, reflecting, discussion, and then repeating the process. Here, "taking time to smell the coffee" means even more than not being in a rush.
  • Liz Avery is a seasoned Sip and Knit Pro teaching classes at the Sow's Ear including Quaking Aspen Shawl, Beaded lace Scarf, Multi-dimensional Scarf, Swirl Shawl, and Saroyan Scarf and many others. And she enjoys sipping as well.
