Kent & Mike "Bike the Barns" 2013
Many months ago Mike & I agreed to ride in the 7th Annual Bike the Barns. On Sunday, September 15th, we were presented with an unusually cold (57 F) and rainy day but nevertheless headed on down the road to the Leonard-Leota Park in Evansville, WI.(Rock County). We had signed up for the longer Rutabaga Route but as the rains continued to drizzle and sometimes pour we set our sites on the 43.4 mile marker (2/3rds of the route) at Tipi Produce, the third of four stops where a wonderful CSA lunch was served. Each stop at a local CSA farm included tours and wonderful nourishment. Put on your rain gear and join us for a refreshing Bike the Barns in the pouring rain - from the Oscar Dietzch Shelter (our starting point) to the Blue Moon Community Farm outside Stoughton (Dane County), to the Blue Skies Berry Farm near Brooklyn, WI we ride with hundreds of others raising over $65,000 in an effort to assist many families with limited resources. Fresh from the local farm to markets, nearby restaurants, and to family tables in need, this is another way to help build stronger and healthier communities.
