John Deere Financial Habitat Frame Up 08.22.2019

John Deere Financial Partners with Habitat to Frame Up Habitat Home on the John Deere Financial Parking Lot on Thursday morning, August 22nd between 9 AM-12 Noon.
Here are images of over 100 volunteers turning the parking lot into a Habitat for Humanity Building site constructing an entire frame for a new home.

The John Deere Financial's Madison headquarters located at 8402 Excelsior Dr. provided a beautiful, partially shaded building site for a new home in the Sun Prairie community.
John Deere volunteers built all of the interior and exterior walls for the three-bedroom, one-bathroom home, which will eventually be located at 1117 Vandenburg St. in Sun Prairie. The future homeowner, Chai, was onsite working alongside the John Deere volunteers building her home. She worked all three of the one hour shifts.

Chai is a single-mom with three children – eight-year-old Sophia, six-year-old Avan, and two-year-old Ryder. Chai is looking forward to having a place to call home and a space for her children to play.

“Being a single mother without a college education, I find myself working at a job that barely pays above the minimum wage,” Chai said, “With the housing market the way it is, I would never be able to buy a house to call my own without Habitat.”

After the completed walls were stood up just as they will be once they’re moved to their permanent location on Vandenburg Street, all the volunteers posed for a celebration picture and then had a catered lunch under the tent.

“We are so thrilled to partner with John Deere Financial on this home,” said Valerie Renk, Habitat for Humanity of Dane County CEO, “Building a home frame is no easy task, and we’re grateful to John Deere for helping us build an entire home frame in one morning.”

Since 1987 Habitat for Humanity of Dane County has been building in partnership with low- to moderate-income families in 18 different communities throughout Dane County. Currently Habitat is building in Madison, Sun Prairie and Fitchburg.
