Gomez & Castellanos Family House Blessing Celebration

Join the Jose Gomez & Rafaela Castellanos family & their children Angelica, Marisela, Jesus and Jose Esteban as they experience the joy of their Habitat for Humanity House Blessing Celebration. Meet some of the Habitat Staff, volunteers, community sponsors and neighbors as the House Blessing Celebration continues on into the evening. Welcome all of the Gomez Family, 505 Moose Trail, Madison on a beautiful winter evening, Wednesday, December 12th, 2012, to their new extended community and their lovely home.

  • Three new Habitat homes will be built at the corner - all two story homes in the same neighborhood.
  • Talking it over.
  • Brian (L), Susan (Center) and Dennis (Right). Many people make the new homes for Habitat possible - teamwork and dedication.

  • The Litany of Thanksgiving led by Pastor Dean Kirst and joined by everyone including the Gomez family.
  • Opening Prayer was given by Pastor Dean Kirst (2nd from Right) and then a Welcome and Thank You by Valerie Johnson (far right) with Angie Grim on the far Left.

  • Angie Grim presents a special Welcome mat made by an African women's group.
  • Rafacia Castellanos & Jose Gomez receive their Welcome Mat gift and the donation of moving containers.
  • Each of the gifts are passed down the line and end with Jesus.

  • Everyone in the Gomez family received their own personalized "I Helped Build It" Certificate from Habitat. They worked long hours in the sun and the cold to make their new home a reality. In addition they will help other neighbors build their homes as well.
  • A very special welcoming gift for the family - a tool kit for home repairs and maintenance.
  • At the end of the line, the big brother Jesus holds the tool kit, the welcome mat and his own certificate. Now he's ready to move in.
  • A family Bible is presented to the family and is received warmly by Gomez & Rafaela.
  • Pastor Dean Kirst leads everyone present in the Litany of Thanksgiving.
